Our metro Atlanta area Fellows had the opportunity to apply for Goizueta Foundation micro-grants to support STEM teaching and learning in their classrooms. Woodrow Wilson Foundation staff, along with faculty from Georgia Teaching Fellowship Programs are working with Fellows throughout the grant process that will culminate in a Micro-grant Symposium later this spring. Piedmont's own Dr. Teresa Secules is providing support for Fellows to assess the impact of their grant-funded projects! Images below highlight Fellows' (Derikson Rivera, Leslie Dunham, Tyler Kinner, and Tareha Hopkins) cross-institution work as well as work in their classrooms with grant-funded equipment. More to come!!!

In mid-January, nine administrators from partner districts and beyond engaged in a Mock Interview session with our Piedmont College Woodrow Wilson Georgia Teaching Fellows. In a process much like speed dating, Fellows spent approximately six minutes with each interviewer. This mutually beneficial opportunity gave Fellows experience with interview skills and attending administrators a chance to meet/ recruit these talented secondary math and science teachers-to-be! Our second cohort of Fellows will complete the program in July and receive certification in either 6-12 Mathematics or 6-12 Broadfield Science. See their profiles HERE. |
