The Ron Clark Academy is a non-profit 5th-8th school founded by Disney Teachers of the Year Ron Clark and Kim Bearden, the latter a former Cobb County educator. In addition to receiving national acclaim for their success using unconventional teaching methods with high needs students, RCA serves as a demonstration school for public school teachers in Georgia and beyond. Check out the site for additional details. The Piedmont College Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship program provides opportunities throughout the year for our Fellows to visit exemplar schools, career academies, and non-traditional educational facilities across the region as part of our periodic Traveling Tuesday experiences. Following our visit to RCA - and a stormy lunch at Mellow Mushroom - the Fellows met with Dr. Diane Ray at the PAGE offices for a pre-employment session rife with tips on preparing to interview and for the job of being a Georgia public school educator. All Fellows are required to be student members of either PAGE or GAE.
Fellows will be participating in mock interviews with administrators and human resources personnel from several regional districts on our Demorest campus in early January.
