This weekend we held commencement exercises and celebrated the graduation of our first cohort of Piedmont College Woodrow Wilson Georgia Teaching Fellows!
In a few short weeks, these amazing STEM professional educators will be working in high needs secondary schools across northern Georgia. Their new schools are fortunate to have them and we can't wait to see the wonderful learning experiences they create with their students this year!
After a busy summer that included: the Foxfire Experience, the Cedar Shoals 9th Grade Transition Academy, science and math content development, introductory labs and explorations with PC faculty, school visits, the Piedmont College STEM Discovery Center Open House, the Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship National Convening in Detroit, and pairs training with their future host teachers...
Our second cohort of Fellows will begin an intense year of work in their clinical placements. We are thrilled to have this group of STEM professionals on board and look forward to watching them learn and grow as they, too, become STEM professional educators.
Stay tuned for more updates - and guest posts - throughout the year!
